A few weeks ago, I got an email from a new podcast fan:
I’ve listened to three episodes of Video Grandpa this far and it’s great, but the logo has been frustrating me, it quite frankly hurts my eyes every time I pick up my phone. So, I figured I’d create something that I found more visually appealing, and if you want to, you could use.
Here’s the old logo, that I made over a year ago.
He’s right: it’s terrible. I am many things, but a graphic designer I am not. Jen hates it too, but she’s never gone so far as designing a replacement.
This guy did. It is awesome.
BEHOLD THE NEW VIDEO GRANDPA LOGO!
Pretty sweet, right? I’ll be working on replacing all the existing artwork with this new stuff, starting with Podcast 58. It’s sad that it’s taken me this long to begin with, but production eats your life like that sometimes.
But wait, there’s more!
Not only do we get a cool new logo, but you do too! The author has agreed to license the logo under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International license – that means that anyone can download, modify, and use this work as long as you give credit and grant others the same rights. Here’s a human-readable summary of the license. This license applies to the design itself – it’s the responsibility of the end user to secure any applicable font rights.
We’re incredibly grateful to the artist for his unsolicited yet awesome work. We’d thank him by name, but he’s asked to remain anonymous – for purposes of attribution, he goes by Hiphopanonymous.
Thank you, kind sir. You do good work.
