Did Call of Duty’s YouTube Streaming Break Already?

As probably all gamers know, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 releases on 11/13/2012. Here in America, that’s tomorrow; elsewhere in the world, that’s today. Since I’m interesting in their crazy new built-in streaming features, I went looking around YouTube for some streams from people who already got the game.

Well, I found some. None of them are working.

As far as I can tell, all the in-game streams have the same metadata. The title is “<YouTube username> – Black Ops II Multiplayer Live Stream” and the description “Now streaming League Play games in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 using the in-game Live Stream feature.”

But every video I find is either “Starting soon…” or “This live broadcast is completed.” Here’s what they look like.

You’d think that a ton of people would be running home and streaming, right? Yet I can’t find a single stream coming from the built-in streaming tools. Did it break already? Maybe not even enabled yet? It’s weird because these screens are clearly different from YouTube’s standard live product screens – so¬†something¬†is working.

I also found this troubling screen on one user’s channel:

And a post from YouTube user MLGSpirit a couple hours ago:

Perhaps an indicator of things amiss? We shall see.
